Minimum Wages
As per the requirements prescribed under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, the rates of employees working in the informal sector are prescribed by the Central & State Governments respectively.
CENTRAL GOVERNMENT
Following are the minimum rates of pay for the employees with effect from 01-10-2017 as per the notification issued by the Central government:

- Within the State of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore & Gwalior falls within category 'B', while all other cities fall under category 'C';
- These rates would be applicable wherever the Central government is the appropriate government under the Act of 1948.
STATE GOVERNMENT
With the 'All India Consumer Price Index' for the industrial workers for the half year ending 31-12-2017 based on 2001 = 100 has been increased by 07 points, therefore, the minimum rates of wages as revised with effect from 01-04-2018 are as follows:
